Where (in the New England area) can I take a group of kids (Girl Scouts to be exact) to watch some RC planes and maybe talk to there pilots? I looked through the notes file for things like "fly in" and "shows" put the next soonest one I could find was in January (indoors). Is there "local" fields where you all get together on weekends to fly? I saw the notes on lunchtime flying during the week, but that won't work out with the kids being in school then. These girl Scouts need to do this (watch RC planes) for one of their badges. They also need to find out what is envolved with building a plane and the cost envolved. I assume I'll be able to find costing information either here or at a hobby store. Any help or information on a flying place and time will be appreciated. Thanks, Ray

Hi Ray, Where are you located?? There are generally fields all over the US and there are quite a few in the northeast.. If you check through note 15, you will find directions to most of the clubs that are used by people in this conference. If you check under 11.1 and find the keyword BEGINNERS, that will lead you to all sorts of notes on the cost of getting started. Be aware that the flying hours are reduced these days at a lot of sights either because of light or local hunting regulations.. Enjoy! jeff |
