1181.0. "Delta wings" by ELMAGO::BPOSTLEWAIT () Fri Feb 16 1990 15:07

    I would like to open a discussion on delta wing type aircraft

    I purchased a Hobby Lobby Delta 40 about three or four years
    ago because the picture looked so good and I was curious.
    Well, when the kit arrived, I looked it over and found that it
    was recommended that the plane should be flown without a landing
    gear. Since I don't have a grass flying field, I decided to put
    the kit away for a while and maybe figure something out later.

    I've never flown a delta, and would like to hear from some of you
    who have had the experience.

Ivan Munninghoff, a member of our club, did an article on deltas
in Flying Models a few months ago. A copy is yours for the price
of a mail message with your mailstop. Ivan is very keen on
deltas, and has several models including a couple of nice F-102s
to show for it. I've never seen him fly ducted fan, since our
high altitude is very marginal for the planes.

    Thanks. I'll send you my mail stop via vaxmail.

    By the way, where is your flying field.
    I'm in Albuquerque, N.M., and we're at approx. 5,000 ft.
