I have a number of a/c motors that haven't been used in almost 14
yrs. Any tips on how I can get them running again ? They all turn
by hand..some are stickyer than others however,I guess all that
gum build up. I have about 7 motors ranging in size from .10 to
.45 by OS and Fox. I have replaced fuel lines and tanks on my planes
already so I would like to salvage as many of these as I can.
thanks

I presume you mean RC?? What I do with old gummed-up
rc and cl engines is soak them in laquer thinner or
mineral spirits and it will cut the varnish type gum
so you can work the piston free. When you have good
mechanical smoothness, you can soak the engine in
marvel mystery oil and use the marvel as an after-
run oil at the end of each flying session. Good luck.
