| | As the previous reply said, the Blackfoot body is the white
styrene type ( like an AMT car model). It can be painted
just like the car models using testors/pactra spray paint
or it's canadien substitute(s). I believe that PARMA sells
a lexan body that's a direct substitute for the Blackfoot
if you want to go that route ( cost is about $20 USA usually).

| | Unless things have changed in the past few months,
the color of the Blackfoot body is black, not white.

| 723.7 | PAINTING MONSTER TRUCKS | MPGS::COLON |  | Mon Oct 10 1988 15:53 | 22 |
| | HI LES,

I'M VERY MUCH INTO BUILDING RC MONSTER TRUCKS AND LIKE
EVERYBODY ELSES REPLY THE BLACKFOOT IS A HARD BLACK PLASTIC.
         I HAVE A BLACKFOOT, A CLODBUSTER I'M STILL BUILDING, AND I
JUST FINISH BUILDING COMPLETELY A VANESA VAN.
IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SPEND ALOT OF MONEY YOU COULD USE REAL
CAR TOUCH UP SPRAY PAINT (2 SMALL CANS). THAT'S WHAT I USE
FOR MY TRUCKS AND IT WORKS GREAT.
THE FIRST THING YOU DO IS CLEAN THE BODY REAL GOOD, LET IT
DRY REAL GOOD AND THEN START SPRAY PAINT. KEEP CAN AT LEASE
8 INCHES FROM THE BODY WHEN YOU ARE PAINTING IT, REMEMBER
FROM SIDE TO SIDE. THEN LET IT DRY REAL GOOD, AND WET SAND
IT WITH 1000 SANDING PAPER. WHEN YOU DO THIS ON THE WHOLE
BODY, WASH THE BODY WITH JUST WARM WATER AND LET DRY REAL
GOOD. NOW YOU ARE READY TO DO SOME MORE SPRAY PAINTING.
GIVE IT AT LEAST 3 TO 5 COATS OF PAINT, 2 CANS SHOULD BE
         ENOUGH.

                                                   GOOD LUCK
                                               MONSTER TRUCK MASTER

| 723.8 | More Questions. | KAOA11::BORDA | No one expects the Spanish Inquisition | Tue Oct 11 1988 09:28 | 10 |
| | Sorry for the late acknowledgement it was Thanksgiving weekend here
in the Great White North.Thanx for the helpfull hints(no doubt I
will have several more questions as I build this beast). As a matter
of fact here's a few right now.I noticed in this months r/c Car
Action a colored picture of the Blackfoot on the last page,do the
red side panels come as a decal or were thes painted on?I have also
seen another colored picture ad.in a different mag with the same
colors which lead me to believe it is a decal.
    Thanx Les.

| | It's a decal that you cut out and peal off the backing,
not the kind you dip in water like most model kits have.
They are pretty tough and you can remove them if you stick
them on wrong the first time. The Blackfoot is basicly a
Frog kit with a high lift package.I can now build one
and have it running in less than 5 hours.Detailing the body(if
requested by the customer) takes a little longer.Hope this helps!
