Oh No! The company's gone!!! I just baught a neat little plan called a 'Pivot'. Its a 60 inch foam wing glider/slope plane the neatest thing about it is that the wings are tied to the rudder and when you turn the rudder the wings 'pivot' like alirons. (wingarons???) The plane was made by Dodgson Designs out of Camano Island Washington but the phone number on the instructions book is no longer in service, anybody know where I might get parts of 'support' on this plane. Also any input as to performance, handling or past exposure to this craft would be very welcome Thanks Folks Bob Page

A review of this Glider was done by Radio Control Soaring Digest. I will see if I can find it and send you a photocopy. I find it hard to believe Dodgson is out of business due to the immense popu- larity of the Windsong. I can assure you this will be a fast ship which probably responds very quickly to control inputs. It is probably best suited for the experienced slope flyer. Regards, Jim

Have you had the maidien voyage yet? You know there is something about madien voyages that make them soo fun to watch. Mark Antry

I have never seen a pivot fly, but I have seen many Windsongs and a couple Pixies fly. The Windsong is one of the most popular contest ships in Upstate N.Y. and appears to fly very well for the experienced pilot. The Pixie(2-meter,straight wing with ailerons) on the other hand has not impressed me when I have seen it fly at contests. It appears fast and hard to handle. One of the fliers I am basing this assessment on also flys a Windsong. He appears to have little problems controlling the Windsong but the same cannot be said for the Pixie. His contest showings as well as other Pixies I have seen has not been good. The Pixie appears better suited to ridge flying where its speed and quick movements are needed. It does not seem like a great thermal ship to me. Regads, Jim |
