1178.0. "photo techniques" by AKOV11::CAVANAGH (We don't need no stinkin badges!) Mon Oct 12 1987 17:17
Hey Al, if you send me the Mig, I'll be happy to take some nice
pictures of it for you |-).
While we are on the subject of photos, here are a couple of hints if
anyone intends to take some:
1) Don't take pictures of your plane from the standing postion if the
plane is on the ground. Get right down to ground level with it (or
as close as possible).
2) Place the plane in 'natural' settings. Don't put it on your work
bench. Put it outside in the grass or on the driveway with grass and
trees behind it.
3) Keep the Sun to your back or off to one side.
4) Use a flash with a light cloth (like a handkerchief) over it. This
will eliminate unwanted shadows while avoiding a glaring bright spot
from the reflection of the flash.
5) To show actual size of the plane. Take a picture of it next to a known
object (standard size). For example, a yardstick or a gallon of paint.
Following these suggestions should give you a good picture(s).
