262.0. "VARIABLE PITCH PROPELLERS" by TONTO::SCHRADER () Wed Aug 12 1987 19:06

I recently saw a Futaba ad which said something about supporting control
mixing for a variable pitch prop. I'ts been a LONG time since i've seen
ads for such props (last one I remember was a ??Graupner?? about 8-10
years ago). Does anybody know if they're still available/who's making them/
how well do they work/any problems with blade shedding/etc.
With just a little electronics, an onboard tach, and another servo it would
be a snap to build a constant velocity prop.

    I have seen some three blade variable pitch props in some cats.
    ...I can't recall which one at the moment. I know Graupner props
    are available from Hobby Lobby(the only place I know of...If any
    one knows another place they can be purchased please let me know)
    but I don't remember seeing the variable pitch prop. Is the one
    your recalling a three blade or two blader??

    Regardless... Please let me know how you make out. Good luck!!

RE: .1

Thanks. I'll have to get a Hobby Lobby cat. The ones that I remember
were 3 blade.

262.3Nogo on Hobby Lobby...3417::JORGENSENThu Aug 13 1987 23:577
    I checked my Hobby lobby cat. and didn't see the three blade var.
    prop. I'm SURE I saw one, though, note to long ago elsewhere.
    I'll let you when it comes to mind. Sheldon's seems to stick in
    my mind for some reason. If you let me know your EMAIL node etc
    I'll drop you a note.

    I finally found the variable pitch prop that I had seen in some
    of the catalogs... If you get Model Aviation, its on page 7 of
    of the April 87 addition. The price is 40$ and the manufacturing
    company is Marx(I've never heard of them). I'm sure that Graupner
    made one also, But I can,t seem to find it anywhere. Here is the
    address:

    		Polks Model Craft Hobbies
    		Canadian Hobbycraft LTD.
    		24 Ronson Drive
    		Rexdale, Onttario, Canada  MW184
    		Phone:(416) 241-2661

    I'd be happy to send you the ad if you'd like.

    Good Luck! Lets hear how you make out.
