| Well, you might nuke the IC in the watch, but other than that,
you have a 50/50 chance of getting away with it. Personally, I'm
shy about putting anything on an antenna, especially the base.
The impedance of the antenna and subsequent efficency is a touchy
thing, mostly affected by physical length, but also by any other
item that comes near or in contact with it. The reason why I'm
especially concerned with the base is that its near the case, and
that's the other half of the antenna (through you). The more
isolation between the two, the better.
I saw someone this weekend with a watch stuck on between the
control sticks. He had one of those cheapie ones, but you could
put the stopwatch on with velcro so you could put it away when
done.
