NOTE: SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY...
This is a 100% documented car from new, no stories, no bondo, no
accidents...EVER.
This is not your father's "boxcar" Volvo. It is a classic, very low
slung, wagon-back (shooting break) sportscar...a DRIVING person's car
that can sutain 120mph ALL DAY LONG, stop and turn on a dime, get 30mpg
doing it, and will last a million miles with proper care. It's great
fun to watch Corvettes disappear and occasionally leave the road in the
rearview mirror on winding country roads!
The beauty of the 1800 series is that they shared many components with
standard Volvo sedans of the same era and parts and service will be
readily available for years to come. The AVERAGE parts availability
from Volvo is 35 years!
The 1800ES cars are beautiful to look at, (body by Bertone), and rare to
begin with (only produced 2 years). Most folks who bought them new enjoyed
them so much they usually drove them all year round till there was no
more car left to drive, thus making unrestored surviving ones in prime
condition extremely rare finds.
This car is 100% original, never driven in Winter, and is in
90+ point condition. Mechanically, it has been kept 'as new'.
Perfect, RESTORED specimens are selling for $20,000. I've seen some
pretty sad looking units with lots of cancer/bondo going for $8,000 to
$10,000 and NONE with 100% original interiors in perfect condition.
There is also a brand-new dealer-installable Volvo air conditioning unit
available for $450 in it's original Volvo boxes or $650 installed.
AC on These cars was a dealer installed option only. These AC units
went for about $750 installed in 1973...(equivalent to about $2,000
today!). New, unused, Original AC units for the 1800 series cars are
difficult to impossible to find today at ANY price.
This car is a sound and growing investment... I guarantee you will find
none finer or more original in the U.S. at this price.
