I am having arthroscopic jaw surgery. I met with the anesteiolist and since I can't open my mouth wide enough they have to put the scope in through my nose with me awake. I am very scared.

Hi, I had a broncoscopy (actually two) and they went through my nose to my lungs to take pieces. They sprayed my nose and throat so I never felt the tubes going through the nose, or down my throat. I was scared also and they were really good. I let them know that I was petrified so the doctor walked me through it. Talk to your doctor about being scared. This way they (the doctor or even the nurses) will help relax you. by either talking or whatever they feel you need. Good luck! Rosie |
