    Not to be a wet blanket but .... ketones, in excess, are fatal. 
    Ketoacidosis, a potential result of prolonged high blood sugar, is
    fatal.  
    
    Ketones are a normal byproduct of burning fat.  It's actually a good
    measure to see if that diet is really working!!  But in excess, can
    result in what is known as "ketoacidosis" in which the body essentially
    poisons itself to death.  
    
    I would imagine that a "diet" like this would require *CAREFUL*
    scrutiny in the amount of ketones.  ... this is also the reason that
    Drs caution again and again, to not loose weight too fast - the body
    doesn't have time to flush out all the keytones.
