1553.0. "Colorado: Constitutional Right to Hunt?" by CSC32::HADDOCK (Pas Fini!) Tue Feb 04 1997 09:59

I have been seeing and hearing reports on Tv and radio that Colorado
State Senator Gigi Dennis (female btw) has introduced legislation to
amend the Colorado Constitution to make it a constitutional right
to hunt and fish. This is done in reaction to recent bans on
tapping and Spring bear hunts. Senator Dennis says hunting is
not just "slaughter of innocent animals", but is necessary for
population control to prevent overpopulation and mass starvation
of game animals. Senator Dennis is a member of a family that has
for a long time been hunters and fishermen (persons?).

Typically, while making this report, the Tv news played scenes of
a hunter carrying a rifle that must have had a 90mm scope on it
stalking and shooting a deer that then flops all over the area
    struggling for it's life.

Also read a smaill piece in sundays paper about the person who
spearheaded the anti-trapping vote this past election, someone/group
has offered him $10,000 to start a anti-hunting in wilderness area
    vote.
