| It looks like a double whammy to me. He's getting hunters and the
NRA in one shot. Charleton Heston is a speaker and member of the NRA.
As far as the recent turn of events you need look no further than our
recent elections. It was in the paper recently that Clinton was over
heard saying that the assault weapons ban was responsible for the loss
of 21 seats in the house. The anti_gun, anti_hunting liberals are
severly bruised right now BUT they'll work their way back if we let
them! Isn't Tank Mcnamara in the GLobe??? If so, you don't have to go
any further left than that to get your fill of that crap..........
That's my honest opion for what it's worth.......

Re .1
My thoughts exactly. The "cartoonist" that pens Tank McNamara has often
put in digs, always portraying shooters and hunters as unshaven,
ignorant slobs with beer guts. For several years he did this with the
"Assault Weapons" issue, with the person of the above description
holding an AK-47 with a banana clip and yelling about the sporting
virtues of such "weapons of mass destruction".
The Anti crowd has been dealt a serious repudiation in the elections
but look for them to use every method of mass media, including comic
strips, to attempt to win the "hearts and minds" of the folks in middle
America.

| Sheesh guys, lighten up. It's satire.
Do you get offended when Tank McNamara portrays sports fans as fat,
drunk, unshaven neanderthals? Do you get offended when he depicts the
average male as a lazy couch potato who needs to have the channel
clicker surgically removed from his clutches? Of course not.
It's meant to poke fun at us. I thought it was hilarious, especially
after Heston zapped the animal rights activists with lightning.
Too funny.

| It'd be a lot funnier if our rights weren't being systematically
eliminated, with the assistance of people like cartoonists, stand up
comics, Djs etc whose inaccurate and extremely unflattering portrayals
of gun owners and hunters sow the seeds of the acceptability of
eliminating our rights. Just my opinion.

| Hi guys,
The LA times is so far left and anti gun its not funny.
Do what I do. Dont buy the paper, and if they try to give it to you
refuse. Also let them know why. I dont buy some forms of alcohol due
to the fact that for every bottle the Kenedys of Mass get ten cents.
