1413.0. "Time for a meeting. " by 31803::PAPPALARDO (PCBU Mfg/Logistics) Tue Nov 15 1994 17:16

Where is everyone? How's things going? Any interesting stories?

Where's the Fra, and Walt,Harris...all the others? Anyone know what's
going on with the photo-album..I need to get some pictures in there.

I've been hunting every Friday,Sat, Sunday since the N.H. muzzle-loader
season...9 deer to date but all doe..we're looking for bucks..........
Seen two moose, heard coyotes....took a float trip for bucks last
saturday...came floating around the river bend in the canoe and there's
a spike standing there on shore...after saying ohh..ohhh...he run
away..ha,ha,ha,...been hunting with a beeper as the wife is expecting
our third child...and it's due this week...anyway I'm out of here next
    week and the week after.......

Just thought the file was slow and wanted to know what all you are
up to and if maybe you had any strange things happen to you this year..

Hey, one of our guys took a 5pt...our guy blew at the deer and the deer
came over to say hi, but found a 12ga...

    Anyway...time for a conference..

      Rick,

I think most people are just reading, since they dont have the time
to enter in replies, with all the transitions in the past year alot of
    people are really busy.

Mr. Harris departed the company about 6 month's ago, it was
something he wanted, I dont know what he's doing, Wess V might know
    more.

As far as things going on in the hunting field, last saturday was a
real bittter sweet day for me, I have been calling deer more this year
and saturday I called in a hunter(bow) he had buck fever big time (the
worste I ever saw!) then in the next hour 1/2 I called in 2 trophy
class bucks, but since the same Ahole that tried to sneak up on the 2
bucks that he thought were fighting was only 12 feet up on a real small
tree so to say that the guy stuck out like a sore thumb is a grave
understatement. so all I got to do was see them.

In review of my season so far it has been a great season so far
lotsa game seen, I have seen more bucks this year than any previous
year in my 17 years of hunting. saw alot of nongame animals also, birds
of prey, flying squirrels, some rarely seen wild birds. got to see 1
bear, saw alot of bear tracks/sign. even found some relatively close to
    camp.

so I guess in closeing most of us are still around just not as
active in the files. and I dont have any idea where the photo album
would be located, Fra ussually knows of it whereabouts.

                        Good luck to all.
Lee (who cant wait till the 21st for gun season

1413.2Game dinner perhaps?38114::BINGWed Nov 16 1994 14:4012

I'm just waiting for gun season to open up here in MA. Didn't
go out last saturday to scout because the week before I jumped 2
near two of our stands and I didnt want to push them into a bow
hunter or have them know when/where I'm coming from.

Anyway I finally got pic's for the album so I'd like to get it
here in HLO one of these days and what would you guys think of
getting together to swap stories and eat? Maybe have some type
    of game dinner?

I went out opening day here in Maine (Oct 29). My father-in-law got a
nice doe (120 lbs dress, approx). Haven't been out since,
    BUT..............

As of tonight I'm on vacation until the 28th. I'll be heading to camp
on Sunday to hunt for 2 - 3 days. Here's hoping......

It would be great to have a get-together and trade stories, etc. Not
sure if I could make it but I'd try depending on the date.

Good luck to all........be safe !

I went home last night and told the wife that I was thinking of
having a get together at our place so the "Men" could eat, drink
and watch hunting video's. I then told her that if I did her and the
boy would have to seek shelter at her mom's house for the night. After
putting an ice pack on my black eye and much more "disussion" on her part
she agreed to it. So if there is an interest in it and eveyone agrees
that Clinton, MA would be okay then we need to set a date.
Let's hear what you folks think.

    Hi Rick,

After the holidays sounds good. There doesn't seem to be too much
interest in this yet. I'm not sure why but if it's location that
can be changed. maybe someone in a more central location could
offer to host this? Someone asked about bringing wives or SO's,
I don't have a problem with that but if we get up to 12 or more people
it's gonna get real crowded. So I was waiting to see how many folks
from here were interested. Someone else also mentioned that they
don't have any game meat. Well I'm in the same boat right now. There
are other things that could be made/bought. Seafood salad for
sandwiches, seafood(?) chowder, baked cod, I could smoke a ham/turkey/
salmon we could use some potato salad or macaroni salad plus a dessert.
There are lots of options. If nothing else we could just shoot the bull
and order pizza. So what do you folks say?

Sorry for the delay folks, the boss dumped a whole ton of work
on me Monday and said "Have it done by 3:30 wednesday". yeah, right.

Anyway we need to decide a few things such as:
When: Jan. time frame seems most likely
Who: If you guys want to bring your SO's we need to cap this now
cause my apt will be overcrowded if we get anymore people. (BTW,
I live upstairs in a 2 family house)
    What: Whos bringing what

When I get a chance I'll start a list of who we have and what
they've offered to bring. If you don't hear from me early next
week dont worry. It's deer season!

Sounds like a great get-together! I sure wish I could be there. I can
have it here in KY if anybody wants to show up....

I can get access to private property of about 500 acres, maybe one of
these days some of us can get together for a week of bowhunting, etc?

As far as Harris is concerned, he is doing fine. He called my this
weekend. He hasn't seen any bucks of any size yet, but is still
hunting. He is in the paint industry now.

I haven't forgotten about this, I've just been real busy. Anway,
after getting mail from most of you who are interested I guess what
we'll do is leave the wives at home this time around. So now to set
    a date. How about 1-14-95? I believe that's a saturday. We could
start at pretty much anytime, whatever may be best for those having
to travel. I know Gus has a 45-50 minutes drive and it would stink
to do that at 11 p.m. So suggestions for a time are welcome.

1413.18An update38114::BINGWed Dec 07 1994 17:2016

I talked to Gus Rinella today and we thought it might be best
if this was moved to his house in Salem,NH. Gus lives right off
of route 93 and his house is very easy to get to. It is a 50 minute
ride from Clinton in case someone is wondering about time/distance.
We would like to change the location due to a couple factors, one
there is more room so folks could bring their wives/SO's if they wished,
and it seems that most of the folks who are interested live closer to Gus
than me. So let's still try for Jan 14 as a date. I'll make a list of
who is considering going and what they'd like to bring and post it
in here as soon as I can. If you haven't responded by E-mail or in
here and would like to come send either Gus or myself mail and we'll
put you on the list. thanks

The dinner is a little over a week away and still on. Gus has a
current list and will enter it here when he has a chance. Anyway,
does anyone know where the photo album is? We'd kinda like to have
it so we can add pictures and make fun of how ugly our fellow noters

Same here, well kinda, the bigest factor being weather this trip is
~300 miles, I would love to be there, but lets see, now if I get there
and it snows really well is there a deer season open now in new
england? that'd be a real bummer if I'd have to stay for a few extra
    days to deer hunt:-)
But seriously though I really want to make it but if I do the

Well for those who weren't able to make it, you missed an excellent
time. The food was incredible and the company even better. As I said
to my wife that night, it was the first time I've ever been with a group
of guys and not one of them was a jerk. The folks that showed were
Rick, Guy, Eric, Mike, Tom, Pappy and son, Gus and myself. We had
venision stew, venision chili, venision with veggies, moose, seafood
chowder, a huge salad plus 3 kinds of bread and all kinds of dessert.
I don't think anyone went home hungry, I know I didn't. There were
LOTS of laughs, and some great hunting videos. I'm just sorry I had
to leave when I did, from what I understand the party went on till
after 11pm. I can't wait for the next one.

I'll second everything Walt has stated. Again a BIG THANKS to Gus for
hosting our get together. It was really good to put faces to the names
of folks we so often pass info and share experiences with. Before Rick
and I left, we were discussing with the folks left the possibility of
another meeting during the summer months for a cook out when the weather
