1412.0. "Yellowstone Elk Poacher caught" by 29067::J_HENSON (and it's still too short!) Thu Nov 10 1994 17:15
There was an article in yesterday's Gazette-Telegraph about the guy
who killed the big elk up in Yellowstone getting caught. I don't
have the article any more, and will enter as I remember it. If
someone has more accurate information, please enter it.
The poacher is from Salt Lake City, Ut., and killed a well-known
elk known as "Big Guy". This was a huge bull (7x7?) and was
somewhat of a tourist attraction.
As I recall, the poacher didn't get a whole lot in the way of
punishment, but I don't have the details.

| Yikes, I just came back from hunting with two guys from Salt Lake city
in Montana, just ten miles from Yellowstone (in the Gallatins). One
was successful the other was not. It can't be them. (I hope)
