More info on the shooting. One 19 year old hunter was shot in the
back by another hunter (Lavallee the Taxidermist from Merrimack)
The 19 year old is recovering well police said. They would not comment
on the caliber of the shotgun nor the distance away they were from
eachother. The bullet entered is lower back from left to right missing
the spine and all internal organs. The 19 year old was wearing blaze
orange jacket, hat and gloves. Lavallee has not been charged in the
crime as of yet. They also would not comment on weather Lavallee's gun
went off accidentally or if the boy was mistaken for game.
I can see the anti's already on this one guys. THe boys family is not
blaming Lavallee what so ever in the accident. They realize accidents
happen. BTW, this happend right near the cider mill on 101.

| I just can't understand how someone could mistake another person for
game, especially if they are wearing blaze orange. The guy was a
taxidermist? You would think he would especially know the difference!
Of course it may have been an accident and not a game
mis-identification at all, they do happen.
The kid was lucky to be shot with a slug and not be killed, the big guy
must have been looking out for him.

You're right Wess. The kid was extremely lucky. The 19 year old's
brother said it was a 3 inch Mag. that he was shot with. OUCH, now
that makes him even luckier.
