Hey guys, Has anyone heard much on the Plum Island controlled hunt? I know it's a lottery and all that stuff, but with all the deer there, would the chance of disease be higher? You would think so with the population, but then why would they have a hunt where the meat would be consumed? No chance for a big rack there. Can you hunt Archery or just Shotgun? Would a doe invalidate a doe permit? Just checking it out. Thanks in advance..... Butch

1302.1 | A note about Lyme disease | TOOK::MCCARTHY | Give every man his dew | Tue Sep 28 1993 10:21 | 6 |
It is not just the dear population that increases the chances of Lyme disease, but the dear mice must be there too. Biologists are not sure of the exact reason, but all three components, dear, dear mice and dear ticks MUST be present for there to be Lyme disease. Mike | |||||

The letter I got on Friday read; Dear Hunter, CONGRADULATIONS, you've been picked for the Parker River Wildlife Refuge hunt.... I wish all my mail went like that :) My friend got picked also. The bad news is the orientation is this Sat, the day I leave for Nova Scotia (%*#%@^!!!!) My friend is calling today to see if we can attend the alternate orientation, if there is one. Has anyone else been selected? jim |
