1261.0. "The rabbits are happy" by CSOA1::VANDENBARK () Thu Apr 08 1993 13:51

    I harvested a big male coyote a few days ago and thought it would be
    nice to see what other opions there are concerning using this type of
    weapon.

    What:	Male Coyote
    Weight:	Approx 40lbs
    Weapon:	Taurus wagon
    Speed:	65mph
    Where:	I-71

    I was thinking I could have imporved the overall FPS(feet per...) if
    I was using 94 octane instead of the cheap stuff.

    Wess, was this from coming home from fishing? What caliber front
    grill were you using? Wow! A free mount on the front bumper>

    fyi, "Fish Naked" is almost ready for the water.

    What size tires were you using? Were they steel belted radials? Were
    they mud and snow or all-weather?

    Wess, how about that bumper on the Taurus wagon, does it expand the way
    you'd like it to? And what kind of hood ornament do you use? ;^)

1261.7Tips for successCSOA1::VANDENBARKMon Apr 12 1993 11:3021
    Guys,

    I got him fair and square. No lead was necessary, he was nice enough
    to dive right in front. I wasn't using any electronic predator calls,
    but "Lola" was playing on the stereo.

    My cover sent was a mixture of anit-freeze and 10w-30. Pennzoil of course.

    As far as footing goes:
    Snow tires leave too much sent and make a little too much noise, you
    can't feel the twigs underneath when coasting. Steel belted radials
    are fine.

    The bumper held up extremly well, it was NAHC approved.

    All-in-all it was a very exciting outing, one I will cherish for some
    time to come. Although deer season, I'm thinking of moving up to a
    full size van or semi.
