I've also read elsewhere in this conference that the group who got
Amend. 10 on the ballet (Fund for Animals) has asked to ban archery
hunting for black bear also.
We've got to stop this ball before it gets rolling too fast. We simply
cannot allow our wildlife to be managed by ballot.
BUT, spring turkey is just around the corner! I've been cutt'n and
cackl'n it up on the ole' diaphragm caller on the way to and from
work. Word of advice though: If you're going to "one-hand" a slate
caller while driving, be sure to put it aside when a vehicle that is
taller than yours pulls along side of you. Might look kind of funny
to the other driver!

The only hope, so far, is that voters will see this yearly assault, and
realize that method the Maryland Fund for Animals is using. Surely archery
for bears won't seem near as "brutal" to the average person as the bait-and-dogs
appeal used in Amendment 10. But, we have yet to see how they twist it. The
overwhelming win of Amendment 10 to limit bear hunting should have ALL hunters
running scared and ready to open their wallets to resistance efforts.
The MFFA is admitting they want to ban ALL sport hunting, so deer
hunters who say "I'm not a bear hunter" are fooling themselves.
Be aware in the new year!
