I got one!!!!!,,,,,,sort of
This is the first doe permit I've got in 5 yrs. I applied to the
Quabbin hunt this year and got picked. They make you buy a doe permit
so now the one I got for zone 9 is no good. Maybe I should try the
lottery :^)

This is the way it was told to me about 1 1/2 weeks ago from
Mass fish + game, this was also the way it was last year ;-)
If you were picked for the Quabbin hunt you were automatically
picked for an anterless deer permit (zone Quabbin) cost $5
You could also be picked for the standard anterless deer permit,
cost $5. Now in Mass you can only get 2 deer per year no matter
where they are harvested, if you where drawn for both anterless
deer permits (Quabbin/standard) you may only fill one of these.
Meaning if you fill your permit before going into Quabbin the
Quabbin permit is no longer valid. I'm not sure of the restrictions
on archery/blackpowder.

As in other regions, Michigan's #10 DMU (deer management unit) has a
real population problem. The herds are pushing 40-50 animals/sq.mi.
The result is that we have the unprecidented fortune of everyone of the
six in our party received antlerless bonus tags ($3ea) for this dmu. The
Detroit News listed an article on Sunday that said there were not
enough applicants in Menonamee county and to stop in at the county seat
in Stevensville and they will give them to you (multiples?)
We have a great mast crop this year, if an easy winter follows, next
year will present a real problem for the farmers and DNR.
