1193.0. "running deer shoot in Kennebunk, Maine" by KARHU::CABRAL () Tue Sep 08 1992 14:09

On Sunday, Sept 12, the Kennebunk fish & game club is holding its
annual field day, and is open to the the public. a clay pigeon shoot
is scheduled, as well as a (possible) swinging duck event. The main
draw for the day will be the 95 yard running deer shoot. Shooters will
be allowed 3 shots at a deer silouhette which crosses (in a bounding
motion) from left to right. The deer is sectioned off in different
point values, ranging from 1 to 5, depending on the area of the deer
    (heart/lung = 5 points, close to heart/lung = 4 points, etc), making
the possible max score per round to 15 points. This event has always
had the distinction of humbling even those most confident shooters,
and will help keep that hunting fever in check.
Shooters will be allowed to total their best 3 scores, and trophies
will be awarded at the end of the day for first & second place, and a
certificate & duck stamp for third.
The cost of shooting a round on the running deer is $1.50, clay
pigeon will be $3.00. (I don't know about the swinging duck event).
Admission to the club is free, and refreshments will be available.
Events are scheduled to begin at 10 AM.
Kennebunk is is in Southern Maine, about 40 minutes North of Portsmouth
NH. If anyone is interested, send me mail and I'll forward directions
