Mike, you can also try the FIREARMS notes conference, look
under MAIL ORDER - or something. There are a number of other
companies besides Midsouth that does good mail order.
Midsouth Shooters Supply, 1925 North Highway 92, New Market,
Tennessee 37820, 1-800-272-3000 or 1-615-475-4783, Fax #:
1-615-475-5351.
Good luck

Thanks Mike this number was for a friend who
wants to purchase a Muzzle loader. There almost
a $100 difference from Gander mts. compared to
Midsouth.
Happy Hunting

re .2
Isn't Midsouth a wholesaler? I'm pretty sure they use to sell to the
gun shop I worked in back in high school. That would explain the
difference. If they are a wholesaler I'm surprised they will sell to
the general public.

Kevin, I obviously cannot say that there is no such whole
sale operation called "Midsouth" or some such thing :-).
But "Midsouth Shooters Supply" is a regular mail order
company who will be happy to take "retail" (i.e. mail order
retail) orders. They are good for reloading stuff, the
best I've come about for scopes and have about 5 trillion
other bits and pieces in their catalog. Only bad thing:
they have a surcharge on credit card orders...

One thing I have learned from running a small business is that the
bank charges the retail outfit that surcharge for every credit card
purchase. Nothing's free, some shops pass it on up front, others
make it up in the margin...if they're profitting on the surcharge
than that's just bad business, IMO.
Just thought I'd pass that along.

Kevin, fair of you to point this out - I knew, but my comment was
insensible to this fact. In any event you have set things straight
now - one never gets anything for free :-}
