I am looking for a hunting club in or around the town I live in. I am located in Bristol N.H. which is in the lakes region of New Hampshire at the southern tip of Newfound lake. I have a new Golden pup and would like to use a clubs facilities in aid to his training. I did this back in Minnesota with my last Golden and it worked great. Not to mention all the other beni's that a hunting club provides. I have checked with all the local vets, sporting goods stores, and even the DNR in the area. But nobody knows of any. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance... Mark Mark Shoemaker ASDG::SHOEMAKER

re hunting clubs Hunting clubs in general are not very popular around here, neither is leased land for hunting. New Hampshire hunting tends to be on either public land (national forest), farms that F&G stock on, or private land that you knock on the door for permission. One hunting club I do know about is SKat Shooting preserve. It is in New Ipswhich and has trap/skeet/sporting clays as well as stocked hunting for members. I have no idea on the price but dogs are required, they have memberships and also you can go for a day. I believe they stock pheasant, quail, Hungarian partridge and maybe others. I also believe that you cannot hunt what is not stocked. In other words, if you are out pheasant hunting and jump a woodcock, you can't shoot him. I know there is also one in Grafton MA, long ride for you, but its there. --Bob |
