| If worse comes to worse, and the bill is unkillable, you might want to
point out that Massachusetts gets along quite well with a 500 foot
limit. (Which doesn't put much deer habitat out of bounds.)

| I just called. The lady at the state house said it was in the F&G
Committee. The number she gave for them was 271-3125. They are not
there today, but she said they were planning to meet either Monday or
Tuesday, so try calling that number then.

| It was sent out of committee with an "inexpedient to legislate" recommendation
several weeks ago. The last I heard it was supposed to have been voted on by
the full house, but I have seen no reports of what the outcome of that was.

This would of messed my hunting up. How in the world
though the woods could a person even know at times they were
1000 feet or more away from something. I wonder how they
would message it. A staight line or along the ground. Some
ridges may put you 1000 feet along the ground but only
400 in a staight line. The three hundred foot rule is a good
one. It is based really on common sence. Most times in the
woods around here the maximum distance you can see is 300 feet.
It is only common sence if you can see a home or town road to
unload or make a 180 and head back into the woods.
I am glad it did not pass. The next time you hear of this type
of thing, please call me at home. We have to stick together.
424-5540.
