TYPE: Whitetail Buck POINTS: Already shed its antlers WEIGHT: 180 lbs WHERE SHOT: Ashburnham, MA DATE: 12/17/91 About 7:00am RIFLE: 58 cal blackpowder rifle HUNTING METHOD: Still hunting DISTANCE: 50 yards walking TEMP. 9 degrees I got my daughther's friend interested in deer hunting. He got a small four pointer opening day of shotgun season and after I let him in on a special place he managed to bag this nice buck. I can't believe such a big deer with no horns. The holes were still raw where the antlers used to be. Would have been a nice set of antlers as the sockets measured about 2 inches in diameter. I couldn't take part in the MA season this year so I guess this deer could have been mine. I've been chasing him around for the last couple of years..... sjn

It may be worthwhile (although too late due to the new snow) to search the vicinity where he shot to deer. You my stumble on the antlers. Mark. | |||||

I'd try like crazy to find them antlers.....then I'd get a nice head mount done and have them re-attached to the skull BACKWARDS!!! :-) DAP |
