1058.0. "need specimens for taxidermy training" by KNGBUD::LAFOSSE () Wed Oct 16 1991 13:38

Looking for a cape and head if anyones not going to mount a doe... need
something to practice my upcoming taxidermy training on... So anyone
who shoots a doe and has no further plans other than meat, i'd
appreciate if thay would treat it like a mount and save the head with
hyde attached for me... I'll pick it up... well, within reason anyways.
Live in Leominster and would be willing to drive an hour or so.

    appreciate it...

    Thanks, Fra

    		< Who's teaching Taxidermy in the area?>

Who are you taking lessons from? I've been looking for someone
who teaches for years without any success. I approached Stan Wood
years ago and he had just started a kid when he decided to join
the Navy. Stan said it was too much work to start another apprentice.

    Any info would be appreciated.

Not quite ready for customer work yet... was actually looking for
someone who was'nt going to mount a deer (.i.e. small spike or a doe)
to be used for training only... not to be returned, well if it comes
out good i'd give it back... you get my drift. There is no real formal
training, just a friend going to take me under his wing and show me the
ropes... so all you muzzleloaders out there and doe permit holders,
keep me in mind should you fill your tag. I'd appreciate it...

Not looking to do any fish yet... one thing at a time.
