Have you ever had your firearm bore sighted or zeroed in and then find that it is not quite as accurate as originally thought when out in the field? Well same here, in fact more than one, some time ago I entered a note in either the HUNT or FIREARMS and in it explored all types of possibilities as to what could be wrong with the shootist or the firearm itself. In preparation for deer season I bore sighted by rifle, while putting the caps back of the elevation adjustment screw I heard a soft series of clicks. Still having the bore sighter inserted in the barrel I looked through it, sure enough the sighting had changed. The gun shop owner said something to the effect while I'll, that explains a few incidents that had occurred with his customers when he bore sighted their rifles in. I found that the windage cap had more internal clearance than did the elevation, so they were switched and it appears that the adjustment hasn't moved. Cheers Leonard

In case any one is following this situation with anticipation of an uncertain out come. I have been in touch wit tasco and they are in the process of sending me some new tower caps, and have requested that the scope be sent back, they wanted it now, said right. How about after deer season?, they agreed. So it is possible that the adjustment screws are two far out, or '?', at any rate they want it back to fix it. Leonard

All I got to say is,"Hey leonard, who was splitting the X on the ballistic chart last week?" That's right, me. Anyway, rifle is cleaned and oiled until firearm season. Bow is ready. 9 more days. Be still my beating heart. bob\ :> :> :> :> :> :> :> :> :> :> :> :> :> :> THE ABOVE WERE PRINTS FROM A DRUNK DEER

Bob, I guess there is some benefit in closing ones eyes and then pulling the trigger. Gosh, less than a month to go, this is when the tough time starts. Leonard |
