    re .0

Welcome to NH hunting. I will try and give you some info, any mistakes
I make, I am sure the others will jump on :-)

    >	1. bird season (upland)

We got basically 3 upland birds.

Pheasant, need an extra stamp for this since all pheasants are stocked,
last year it cost $10, I think it went up $.50

Partrige (ruffed grouse) and Woodcock, ok may not be upland but...

Season basically is Oct 1 to end of the year. All pheasant stocking
takes place early so come November/December there are few left and
they have smartened up quite a bit.

    >	2. deer season (rifle, shotgun)

Deer season with guns is Nov 6th through Dec 1(?), limit is 1 per
year. The state is split into several zones, each zone has its own
rules on doe vs Buck, in general the further north you go the smaller
the amount of days you get for either sex season, some areas have
bucks only the entire year. Each zone has its own rules about rifle
or shotgun only. Again, in general the more you move north (or west)
the better chance you have of using a rifle.

    >	3. rules

    A little vague, anything special??

    >	4. cost of out-of-state license

I believe it is $70.50 for a full year out of state any game license.
There are also small game and several day licenses available, don't
know the cost. I believe both bear and turkey require extra stamps.

If you can give alittle more info on the area you hunt then more
information can be given about zone specific rules, this applies mostly
    to deer season.

See note 975 for more detail on Deer season.

Also you can either call F&G in Concord or stop by any place that sells
licenses in N.H. and pick up a copy of the rule book which answers all
    of your questions.

I've never tried the 800 number, but I have contacted them at (603) 271-3421.
They are usually very good about mailing info out on request.
