966.0. "INCREASED DEER LIMIT IN GA." by ODIXIE::RHARRIS () Thu May 30 1991 10:02

I was reading this notes file, and just heard on the radio some
interesting news. For all you Georgia deer hunters, the DNR has
increased the firearm bag limit from 3 to 5 for this year.

Damn, I sure picked the wrong year to get married. Oh well, last year
I only used one tag, maybe this year will be the "lucky year".

Regardless, from 3 to 5 for firearm shows that there is an abundance of
deer in the state, and that's a good sign. All we need now is an
extension of deer season. Current season usually runs from about
October 19, my wedding day, to December5-6, and then the last week of
December. Maybe they should run it from October 18, heh heh, to Jan 3.

By the way, 142 days until firearm season in Georgia for deer. Oh my
god, that means I get married in 142 days. Oh well, there's always the
    rest of the season.

Bob,

Maybe the increase in the limit will help get your soon-to-be wife
to move the d-date up one week. Be careful, though, since they
tend to be funny about that type of thing. I suggested that my
wife hold out a week on having our first baby the week of Thanksgiving
because it will probably be a doe-weekend and I might be hunting.
She calmly threatened to remove one of my most important body parts
with sharp cutting instruments if I decided to hunt that weekend...8')

GOSH, unfortunately the date is set, and cannot be changed. Oh well,
my deer season lasts so long, and I only need one day to get meat in
    the freezer.
