954.0. "ANTI TRAPPING BILL IN NEW HAMPSHIRE" by HURON::DAY () Tue Apr 30 1991 13:43

SB961 will be coming up before the New Hampshire house shortly.
It is a bill designed to stop trapping. It is sponsered by you
know who. This bill is if passed will be looked upon as great
victory by the animal right activist as the first victory in
ending any gathering of wild game. This includes hunting. If
you live in New Hamphire and have not received your NRA alert
yet call your local representative. The bill has already passed
the New Hampshire senate. The Fish and Game commitee voted
    	18 to 1 against it.

I guess we are seeing another side of having a good business
outlook in New Hamshire. We have attacted many animal rights
people into this state. We must make a stand now or we may
loose later, remember also these people never give up.

Boy I wish the NRA could inform us of this shit further in advance than
it does. I got my mailing Saturday! and the votes today. I managed to call
my representatives and none of the three said they supported it. Thank God!

The bill is SB169 according to my NRA flier. As soon as someone finds out how
it went or how to go about finding out, post it here.

I take it this bill didn't pass ? Otherwise
we should've seen animal rights activists
dancing in the streets and the media splashing
it all over the 6:00pm news but since it's
been quite ...

954.3YES, A VICTORY HURON::DAYFri May 10 1991 14:2910

Yes, it was defeated a subsitute motion that it "ought to pass" was
defeated by role call vote 231 to 111. The bill its self was defeated
by voice vote so no numbers are available.

Keep the fight up on the Brady Bill.
