894.0. "Where is NH Boone and Crocket" by COGITO::IXIX::PAGE (Senator Page CTSPST::IXIX::PAGE) Mon Jan 21 1991 13:33

        I bagged a 200 lb. 12 point non-typical whitetail in N.H.
        this last November. I am interested in having a Boone and
        Crocket rep check it out. I don't have the slightest idea of
        how to find these folks.

        I thought that each state had a Hq of some sort for the club.
        I called Concord, N.H. Information and got nothing. I also
        tried Boston to see if they had a listing... no luck!

        Any Ideas?

        Thanks,

        Terry

    Re. -.1

    	Thanks for the address. I will use it as a last resort. I really
    	need to *TALK* to to someone from B&C. Would you believe that
    	there is no listing in Alexandria, Va. for Boone and Crockett?

    	Without getting into all the assorted details, it's going to take a
    	lot of coordination on my part to get the taxidermist (part time) and
    	a local (Plymouth, N.H.) B&C person together.

    	Any valid B&C telephone number would probably get me off on the
    	right foot.

    	Thanks again,

    	Terry

894.3Try the Manchester Union LeaderSALEM::MACGREGORTue Jan 22 1991 08:107
    re.0 Last fall there was an article in the N.H. Sunday News about how
    to score a Boone and Crocket rack and I believe they also had some
    information on how to officially get it scored. You might want to send
    a question to the "Ask Us" column in the Manchester Union Leader. The
    columnist seems ti find all of the answers to just about every question
    and if she can't she will ask the readers to help. Good Luck.

894.4National Boone and Crockett (703) 221-1888COGITO::IXIX::PAGESenator Page CTSPST::IXIX::PAGETue Jan 22 1991 10:2723
        FWIW: I called the Manchester Union Leader in the hope of
        talking with the Ask Us Column editor. The editor works from
        home, and was not immediately available. The MUL suggested
        the Manchester Public Library.

        The Manchester Public Library was very helpful. They could not
        find any reference to a Boone and Crockett Club in New
        Hampshire, but they came up with a telephone number for the
        Organization's national headquarters:

        	(703) 221-1888
        	-----
                  |
        	  +--- (Somewhere in North/West Virginia)

        They are sending me a list of scorers in the New England Area.
        There are only 4 or 5 for the whole New England area, and they
        are all volunteers.

        I'll post whatever appropriate info I get.

894.5If you can't wait, Call.........SALEM::PAPPALARDOTue Jan 22 1991 16:059

    You can have it scored at the Whitetail Classic that "should be" held
    at the Manchester (NH) Armory in early April. If you want someting done
    sooner try calling 3 B's Achery in Fremont,NH. When I took the NH Bow
    Hunters Education course there, one of the teachers scored for Pope &
    Young and he was also at the Classic scoring.

        I've posted info for the Boone and Crockett Club as a base note
        and replies to note 899. Please see that note and it's replies
        to contact one of the B&C "Official Measurers". Each reply
        should correspond to a state. I've entered 4 replies for
        Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Maine. Add others if
        you have them.

894.7N.H. Skull & Antler ClubSALEM::GOGUENWed Feb 20 1991 11:198
     There is a organization in New Hampshire called the N.H. Skull & Antler
    Club. They are not dirrectly linked to the Boone & Crocket or Pope &
    Young though they measure the same way. There is a guy in Chichester
    N.H. (outside of Concord) who is an official scorer. His name is Lew
    Marston (603-798-4935). He should be able to tell if a rack is
    eligible for entry in the record books.
