It's 6:45am on a Sunday morning in December...
The snow is lightly falling, The woodstove is a blazing, the xmas tree
is grand and the coffee is great. As I gaze from my window into the
pasture there's a silence, a black and white world where everthing is
"still"......Suddenly I notice movement at the edge of the field...like
the greyness of the woods a ghost emerges..A Grey-Ghost....he steps out
from the arms of his protector and seems to stare directly at the
window from which I stand. For a moment we are one...the hunter, and
the hunted and then with a single move he turns his majestic body and
like the smoke from the wood-stove he drifts back into the woods and is
gone.....Merry Christmas I say.....Hope the winter is an easy-one.
Suddenly the house erupts...MERRY-CHRISTMAS DADDY!!!! and I like the
Majestic-Buck who honored me with a visit have returned to my role
until next November-December when the Grey-Ghost and I will play chess
again.
This short story is to all of You for Christmas.

Real Nice story Rick, you really should have been a Journalist for
Outdoor Life or any other good outdoor magazine.

| From the desert of Phoenix (where we had snow a couple days before
Christmas)...
I hope you had the best Christmas ever and that you have a GREAT
NEW YEAR! I wish everyone good luck with your 1991 hunts, may they
bring you and your friends many enjoyable memories and plenty meat
on the table.
Right now the ducks are flying real well out here. Makes for a
great 4 day weekend! I'm looking forward to the next one in 2 days.
Well, I hope I'm still with you all next year and not gone with the
wind like my plant -- PNO.
