748.0. "tried this yet ?" by WJOUSM::MAZEROLLE () Mon Sep 10 1990 11:28

Hi, I went to SKAT in New Ipswich N.H. It is a "Sporting Clay" range.
It is designed to simulate REAL hunting with clay targets. Each
shooting field is designed to replicate a classic type of upland shot
and is appropriately named for each. From "Pheasant Phenomenon" to
"Mallard Madness" to "Panicky Pintails, etc etc. Each round uses 50
shells and costs about $20.00. THe place was completely uncrowded and
FUN-Filled. This place was a blast !! (literally and figuratively).
    Give it a try - You'll like it :>)

This is really difficult, its all back roads and it was my first time
there but ... if coming from rte 101 take route 45 S. go about 2 miles to
the center of Temple, bear right at the fork (after the IGA
Supermarket) - go past the school and SKAT is about 3 miles on the left.
From Route 31 take rte 45 N to Temple Center and take a left before the
IGA and SKAT is about 3 miles on the left.

Their Phone # is (603) 878-1257 and address: PO Box 137, Temple Road
    New Ipswich, NH 03071.

    RE.0
Don - you neglected to mention your score.

p.s. Do they have one where you can shoot at Dizzy Does or Bleating
    Bambi's or Stumbling Stags?

Gee Dan, leave it to you to look for details. You know me, I've always
avoided math that's why I moved to Personnel. BUT, to answer your
question I shot 30 out of 50 on the first round, that part of the field
more closely simulates duck hunting. On the second round (simulating
upland game birds) I only shot a 20 out of 50. The only thing
simulating deer hunting was one station where you had to try and
decapitate a doe. I did very well on that one - only one shot !! :>>).
