728.15Brant in New England?DATABS::STORMWed Oct 17 1990 10:4610
    Thanks for posting those dates for me.

    By the way, I've been meaning to ask if any of have had any experience
    with Brant in the New England area. I always see that that in the
    regulations and wonder if there really are enough around to hunt. I'm
    not sure I would recognize one if I saw it, so maybe I've been seeing
    them and didn't realize it?

      Mark,

         You bet we have Brant Geese here in Mass. I know for sure there is
    a good size flock that winters around the mouth of the North River, in
    Marshfield. My buddy managed to take one down last fall.

    Good luck,

    Thanks Mike. Do you know anymore about them, like do you have to
    hunt specifically for Brant, or can you just goose hunt and expect
    to see a few Brant?

    Mass coastal goose season closes. The date in the note is Jan 13.

    Shouldn't that be Jan 19th? Do any of you have an official set of
