I've been loading for my .375 H&H 77.5 grains of 4350. These loads are
accurate. I've also loaded Jack O'Connors 80 grains of 4064. Potent!
I read somewhere years ago how the .375 can be loaded down using heads
as small as 110 grains. Does anyone have any loading data on the
smaller heads? I picked up some 200 grain flat nose from Sierra. But
when I called their 800 number for load data they told that head was
for the .375 Win. Has anyone experimented with this head in .375 H&H?
Anyone's reaction to H&H's new .700 cal.? Carmichel wrote about it in
the August Outdoor Life. I got the mag but have'nt read it yet.

| 713.1 | smallest may be 235 gr. | SALEM::MACGREGOR | Wed Aug 01 1990 13:21 | 17 | |
I read the article and after thinking about it for awhile I don't
really think that I have a need for one. I know I couldn't afford
to buy it never mind shoot it. I think each cartridge goes for $20.
I think they said the rifle goes for $63,000? I wonder how Carmichael's
shoulder has healed. Back to the .375 H&H, not that I own one so
my opinion may be wrong, but I have only seen them in 270 gr. and
300 gr. Speer lists a 235 gr. in semi-spitzer and that is their
only one they do list for .375. Sierra lists 2, one at 200 gr. flat
noseww and another in 300 gr. in spitzer boattail. Hornady lists
3 weights with 2 of those weights coming in different shapes but
those 2 (270 gr. and 300 gr.) I would think are for the .375 H&H
while the 220 gr. flatnose is specifically listed for the .375 Win.
Nosler lists only one and that is a partition in 300 gr. spitzer.
The smallest you might be able to go might be the speer in 235 gr.
spitzer. Speer also makes one other in grand slam, 285 gr. I don't
know if this helps.
