| No, it's not to cold to go out in the woods. Actually it's
been pretty good weather considering what we had all Dec.
I do plan on getting out at least a couple of times for some
Snow shoes.
You know what would be a good idea for the Quabin is to do something
like what I saw in a Wildlife video. Open the area to two man teams,
adult plus child in the 14 year age range. One gun between them,
held buy the child. The idea being to get the child their first
deer. Sounded pretty good to me.
I do plan on going to the Expo in West-Springfield in February.
Haven't been to Maine in over a year, but a guy I know got a
650 pound moose there this year(1989).
I did hunt muzzle loader in mass. this year and saw deer on two
of the days but didn't have a good shot.
I can't believe everythings about over either. But you've got to
keep your SO happy some of the time by doing odd jobs around the
house right?? I said RIGHT??? Nobody ever answers me when I ask
that. :^)
I'm sending in my turkey permit, deer permit and Bear permit requests
today. WAIT WAIT... back up. Spring bear hunt???????? Are we talking
Mass. hear or what??????
How's that Rick??..... NEXT

| The only seasons open I believe in N.H. are rabbits (snoshoes and
cottontail) and I believe fisher is open. Crow? not sure. But I
think just about everything else is closed. Coyote has no closed
season in N.H. Tough animal to even get a glimpse at. There might
be a couple other scavenger type animals that don't have a closed
season either, canb't remember which ones. I think porcupine might
be one. No Bobcat season season at all this year in N.H. Usually
they wait until 30 are taken before they close the season for them.
No spring Bear season in N.H. although I wish there were. MAybe
sometime in the future as the bear population seems to be growing
at a good rate. Maine has a spring season for bruins as does Quebec.
At this tiome I have no other plans than to hunt good old N.H. this
year. I can't wait already. Got some new white camo gear to try
next year. Wish I had it for the last day of N.H. up in the mountains.
We got 9 inches of fresh snow the night before the last day of deer.

RE:1
I was refering to Spring Bear in Maine.
How about this for a challenge. The Coyote season is open year round in
N.H.. You must have a current hunting lic.
So get your whites on, a good call and hunt them with the
muzzle-loader. Call'em in real close!! What do ya think ? I took one
with my T/C 54cal renegade right down the throat at 35yds. After the
smoke cleared there he lay, only thru him back about 5 yds but did'nt
damage him to much. With them crude iron sights and such a small
target, I felt real good about myself after the wait, the shot
placement, the whole hunt was something to experience and with a
muzzle-loader to boot. Talk about keeping in tune for deer season, try
hunting these guys, its easier to get a deer.

The coyote population is very large. The southwestern part of N.H. is
a good place to start.

Greg,
For Coyote in N.H. does the book say something of you can hunt 1 hour
into darkness, or something like that ? I think i read or heard of
that someplace.
Thanks,
Rick

| Rick,
It is the usual hunting hours... hour before sunrise and after
sunset.
Usually all of the exceptions are clearly printed... ie: no time
restrictions on racoon, maximum 7 cell flashlight...
How far from Londonderry would I have to travel to hunt coyote.????
I've not gone for those critters yet and wouldn't mind teaming up
to learn a few pointers....
Thanks,
Greg

Merrimack is pretty well built up up there around.
There may be better places to hunt but the point is you can
find them anywhere in N.H.

The animal is truely adaptable to all habitats.
The better areas to hunt are the Low-Land Farm areas. Remember when
hunting any game usally the best places to do so is where two different
types of terrain meet, such as fields and forest or cuttings and
forest, swamps and fields and so on and so forth.
