Al,
The best thing to do is find out if the guy is hunting on your
friends private land, if so and he doesnt have permission then he
is illegally TRESSPASSING even if the land isnt posted....
HUNTING IS A PRIVALEDGE NOT A RIGHT!!!! (and privaledges can
be taken away) if the landowner wants to get involved with this
guy and he still wont leave have your friend call the state police
and fish & game since he is on the land without permission.
I am not sure how N.H. works but if the tree is damaged by
a tree stand the person who put the stand up is financially responsible
for any damage to the tree $$$$$$$$ (at least in Pa) so I would
ask the fish & game dept.
Last night I went into the area where I hunt and there was
cars parked all along the road at the far end of the farm and where
I park there was 5 cars there hum whats this all about I though
there were guys standing along the logging road adn then I knew
what was going on they were going to put on a massive deer drive,
Well I went into my stand and I heard some deer come past me
on the other side of the pines but couldnt see them.
When I came out at dark the guys were gone and there werent any
shots fired. they might of gotten worried with me coming in at
the middle of there drive because they were right in the middle
of posted land. what *ssholes.
GOOD LUCK WITH THIS GUY

I don't think that you should hunt someone elses stand without their
permission. He put the blood, sweat and effort into building them and
he should have some say in who is in them. I'm assuming you're
talking about permanent stands here.
The issue here is that he put the stands so close to your stand.
That's an a**hole move on his part. Tell him that you are hunting
that hollow and you don't appreciate him sniping you like that. If he
turns into super-a**hole about it, drink a large bottle of juice, eat
a big breakfast, wait until he's in the stand and then walk a big
circle around him leaving "scent" everywhere you go ;^).
We have a similar situation where I hunt - the land is owned by more
than one person, so multiple parties have permission to hunt. we
discovered this when we were doing preseason scouting and found they
had tied ribbons in to find their way to our stands. I cut the first
couple of ribbon trails out w/ my knife. I was pissed enough so that
when I found a 3rd ribbon trail into a 3rd stand (that WE built) I
untied the ribbons, went up the road about 100 yards, and tied them again
on trees going in a big circle. I think they got the message because we
haven't had problems with them being in our stands.
Just my .02 worth,
Scott
