| | In New Hampshire a minor may hunt with an accompanying adult
who is properly licensed. Non-resident minors, I believe, do
have to get a non-resident permit but still have to be with
    an adult who is licensed.

In MA I believe you must be 16 to hunt alone (with a safety cert),
From 14-16 you can hunt with someone 18+, the 18+ person needs a
license and only one gun between the two of you, also one bad limit
etc, just like one person is hunting. This is how I started.

| | Maine, Persons at least 10 years of age and under 16 years of age
are eligible for a junior hunting license.

    	a. A resident junior hunting license allows the hunting of all
    	   legal species.
    	b. A nonresident junior hunuting allows the hunting of all legal
species, except deer, bear, moose, and turkey with firearms.

Note: I can't find it written anywhere but I think a junior license
holder needs to be acconpanied by an adult license holder

| | Vermont requires hunting/fishing licenses of persons 15 and older; it
was a savings when we only had to buy 2 licenses and brought our two
young sons in the years before they were able to buy their own.

I like the idea of minors being required to hold some kind of
a hunter safety certificate. This, at least, may get the minor
interested enough to actually hunt. What I am getting at, is that
*many* adults in Maine and other states, buy a license for *all*
eligible minors *regardless* of whether they hunt or not. This allows
the adult to take *several* deer, having their son/daughters tag
    the deer.

| | I think also in N.H. one can start hunting on their own, with a
completed hunter safety course, at 16 years of age. I think now
one must have a hunter safety course to obtain a license in N.H.
or a previous license. But as far as a minor hunting with an adult,
which must be 21 years of age or older, there is no restriction
as to how young a minor can be.
