475.0. "Discharge of firearms near dwellings?" by STAR::FARNHAM (Stu Farnham, VMS Development) Thu Sep 21 1989 20:16

    Not a junting question, and not inspired by hunter's use of firearms,
    but I thought someone in this conference might know:

    What's the law in NH about discharge of firearms with respect to
    minimum distance from dwellings?

    I know that in some states, it's illegal to discharge a firearm
    with 500 feet of a dwelling.

    I believe in N.H. it is also 500 feet in but also 300 feet from
    a road also. The roads must be a class 1,2,3,4, or 5. You may fire
    from a class 6 though.

I think a lot of cities also have ordinances - like its illegal to
discharge a firearm within city limits, regardless of how close you are to
a dwelling. I'm assuming, though, that you're talking about somewhere
rural that just happens to be near a house...
475.3Windham, N.H.SALEM::MACGREGORI'm the NRA/GONH/NAHCSat Sep 23 1989 13:013
    I think Windham, N.H. is one town that does not allow the discharge
    of a firearm.
