I am looking for Vermont info for the coming deer season. I am particularly interested in info on accomodations in the Londonderry and Windham area, and hunting conditions in the area of Turkey Mountain. Have never hunted in Vermont but I hear conditions are improving. Thanks, Ernie

I can't speak of the area you are planning on hunting, but I can comment on the "improving conditions". In my opinion that is a very accurate statement. Not only in number of deer, but the health of the deer as well. There is a pile of data that shows reproductive rate, antler beam, average weight, etc. are all on the climb. We have had a few "mild" winters (or so the F & G dept reports), which certainly helps. I think the snowfall is so different from area to area that it's really hard to judge. It might be worth the trip (highly recommended) up to the area, do some scouting, and getting permission from the landowners. Good luck, Kevin |
