400.0. "CASH (Committee to Abolish Sport Hunting" by FRAGLE::JOLLYMORE (I'm the NRA) Wed May 24 1989 10:31

The following article was in the North American Hunter
May/June issue (this is the official publication of the
North American Hunting Club) in the news update section.

I thought this group might deserve a note of there own
so we can keep an eye on them, if not please move it to and
  appropriate spot Mr. Moderator.

Anti's Pledge To Abolish Sport Hunting

White PLAINS,NY-- A radical antihunting groups plans
to attack and abolish sport hunting in the U.S.

"We plan to initiate and carry forth a series of
lawsuits designed to invalidate hunter control of all
state fish and game agencies," wrote Luke Dommer
president of the Committee to Abolish Sport Hunting
(CASH). "New York is targeted for this landmark litigation
which will set a precedent for other states."

Dommer outlined the attack on hunting in a letter
that he sent to people that asked for money to support CASH.
"...litigation we are proposing," he wrote, "is the only
correct way to effectively attack sport hunting and this is
why we are working to raise a war chest of $100,000." The
	group has already collected $24,000.

In the letter, Dommer alleges that "hunters control
every state fish and game agency in the U.S." He also
alleges that over-population of deer is "deliberately
produced by wildlife management... to supply trophy
	targets for hunter's recreation."

In an interview published by Animal's Agenda Dommer
said, "A lot of hunters are conditioned at youth to kill.
But it can't be denied that many hunters get a thrill
from killing. I've seen guys after a kill who are flushed
with pinkish hue, glassy eyed, like they had been injected
with some kind of drug. Many hunters are sick people, in
	my opinion."

Just from the short description and quotes you give, it sounds
like we have little to fear from these clowns. Anyone with half
a brain (including especially legislators) can easily be made to
see the light in respect to proper game management and the short
and long term effects of overpopulation. These people would get
eaten alive in an exchange of FACTS.
I think that the acronym CASH really stands for: CALLING ALL
    SH*T HEADS.

    Be safe

That is partly what scares me about this, also this is all going
to be in court with a possible liberal judge or jury.

A few years ago in Mass we had bad over population of deer at
Crains Beach reservation with deer starving to death, so the
state schedualed a special hunt to thin them out. Belive me
it never happend there was a lot protest and these people would
rather see the deer starve to death than be hunted.

Dont ever underestamate these people they never give up.

400.3Fight back NOW!GENRAL::BOURBEAUThu May 25 1989 11:3510
If you've followed the recent gun controversies, you should
be aware that "facts" have little to do with political decisions,
or public sentiment. Emotional appeals to the unknowing masses
are terribly effective, and politicians respond to pressure, not
    reason.
Judges are politicians in disguise, so fight now, and don't
underestimate your enemies, or you may wake up to find that they
    have already won.

Money, Where do these people think all of the money that helps in
preservation of our wildlife comes from...Sure in Hell isn't from
any public tax dollars...Have they ever heard of the Pittman-Robinson
act..Stupidity, seems to be rampant in people who don't have a clue--
other than watching BAMBI--On the idiot box---

    Signed, Peeved

P.S.--We have the same probs in colorado--Some idiots want to stop
hunting on the U.S Air Force Academy--The Cars are loosing, and the
    deer are starving.
