SPRINGTIME IS ALMOST HERE AND I WAS WONDERING IF ANYBODY OUT THERE KNEW OF ANY GOOD LOCATIONS TO HUNT WOOD CHUCKS IN MASSACHUSSETTS. I USED TO HUNT THE ON A FARM THAT BELONGED TO MY FREINDS GRANDPARENTS. HOWEVER, THE FARM WAS SOLD A FEW YEARS BACK AND HAS NOW BEEN DIVIDED INTO HOUSE LOTS AND I HAVEN'T REALLY HAD MUCH LUCK FINDING A NEW SPOT. ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. SCOT

Follow your nose to holstein d'odor, most dairymen welcome woodchuck assasins since the holes are a damned nuisance in a hay field. I killed 154 last year on the 400 acres we have under till, mostly in hay and bean fields. BTW, the little ones are tasty eating!! ...ds | |||||

another thought, although it's a little late for this year but next year take your drives during Jan/Feb. These are the months that the ground is hard enough to spread manure and it is easy then to find the guy doing the spreading who is the guy with the cows!! He also has the time to sit and talk awhile and get to know YOU and decide if he want you on his property. Try also stopping in during chores since mlking alone can be boring and he would likely appreciate the company. good luck ...ds |
