259.0. "What do you carry when hunting big game?" by PLATA::BILLINGSLEA (Mark \ DIS/SD/PSU \ DTN:522-5317) Fri Oct 21 1988 12:11

    Since in Colorado (ie. Rocky Mountains) the conditions during hunting
    season can range from beautiful to blizzard (and change from one to
    another in the course of a day), what do you carry while you're out
    hunting?

    Let's assume you are going to be away from camp all day and there is
    that *slight* chance you might get lost. ;-)

    I carry one of those "space blankets" with me. They're the ones
    that look like tin foil.

    Also, I carry about 2 feet of string with me to tie up the liver
    and heart in the chest cavity after field dressing. Sure beats the
    plastic bag method!

    2 compasses too! One ball compass on the coat, and one in the pocket.

    I bring alot of the same stuff that you guys do but instead of a
    hot seat I use a "butt plate" and also bring along a collapsable
    drinking cup and hard candy. If in northern N.H. I might bring an
    extra set of clothes.
