Fins and feathers is not produced by the state. It is produced by
a publisher in Minnesota. It is primarily a magazine written for
northern states with some specfic Mass. articles each month. An
excellent mag.
The Mass. state publication is called Mass. Wildlife. I believe
it is published every other month (not sure).
It can be ordered for $6.00 per year or $10.00 for 2 years.
Send a check to:
Mass Wildlife Subscription
Division of Fisheries and Wildlife

Also an excellent magazine.

145.11 | fin and feathers; excellent reading, but priavate enterprize | VELVET::GATH | | Fri Mar 25 1988 12:56 | 20 |
| As some of you may know Fin and Feathers is a magazine that
is regonalized by adding a few articles from your geographic
location zerroing in on activities that would interest you.
Much like Field and stream does with there colour section
that is about 1 page long on each of the states in the north
east, Maybe it is outdoor life or both that do this.
Fin and Feathers has taken it one step further and has tried
to regionalize the whole magazine with some articles such
as dog training or how to set decoys would appear in all
the different varri-ations ( sp )
I have seen a Florida and a New Hampshire issues.
Fin and feathers is an excelent magazine . It makes
excellent reading no matter what region you are in.

145.14 | Wahington Hunting and Fishing News | DECWET::HELSEL | Well....isn't that special? | Wed Aug 24 1988 15:32 | 18 |
| In Washington, there is a publication called Hunting and Fishing News.
It comes out once a week (always comes on Tuesday). It gives all
kinds of info on Washington hunting and fishing: Hot spots for
Salmon, Steelhead, trout etc., as well as maps of lakes, hunting
spots, fishing and hunting forecasts, license application deadlines,
dates, etc etc etc.
The fishing news is not totally accurate. For instance, if they
say that the fish are biting at a given spot, it is probably a week
old. With migratory salmon, this is not reliable. The rest isn't
bad and it has really helped me learn a lot about hunting and fishing
in Washington State.
If anybody is interested in subscribing, let me know and I'll get
you an application. The price is around $30/year. Not too bad
for 52 issues.

145.15 | Michigan Out-of-Doors | GLDOA::MORRISON | | Sun Oct 23 1988 00:10 | 8 |
| There is a magazine I receive as a member of the Michigan United
Conservation Clubs called "Michigan Out-of-Doors" It is a magazine
that focuses 90% on hunting & fishing and is quite good. It also
touches on envirionmental issues in the state but mostly on h &
f. You can deduct the membership dues, join one of the largest,
if not the largest state conservation groups in the country, (who
is very effective politically) and get a great magazine in the process.
Membership is $20.
