NEW BRUNSWICK HUNTING RESULTS Well, the hunt is over and here are the results. Took four deer, 2 bucks and 2 does. The bucks were 11 and 9 pointers at approximately 200 lbs filed dressed. One doe was 165 lbs foeld dressed, the other smaller(can't recall the stats). Two didn't see any deer at all. One shot the doe(1st day) and later shot the 9 pointer while bear hunting over bait. Another member of the party tagged it. One hunter had two shots at two bucks but missed! All in all it was a good hunt(66% success) and the accomodations etc were good. Would I recommend it? Yes, just be prepared to experience a different style of hunting(deer calls, antler rattling, etc). Almost forgot, all the deer taken were from stands as opposed to still hunting.

New Brunswick Hunt - Almost forgot, if you are after "monster" whitetails, this is the place. One deer that was tagged had a 31 inch spread. We hunted a swamp that held a reputed 22 pointer...how do they know? A local women was out bird hunting and she heard a ruckus, what she found was two bucks fighting. One was the 22 pointer, the other an 8 pointer. The 22 pointer would literally pick up the 8 pointer and throw him backwards! That is some deer! At the lodge, their are "racks" that anyone would be proud of. If you want further info, just drop me a note. Pictures should be back after Turkey day break. |
