Gee, maybe I should sign up! I wonder if I'd get more than
an aluminum boat with a 10 horse outboard to chase down those scofflaws
with?..... :-)

Might be a great summer job for a teacher...

I wonder if there is a difference between 'marine patrol officers' and
game wardens when it comes to what waters they patrol? Aren't NH lakes
patroled by game wardens?

I suspect you may not get the desired location or transport without
seniority, and successful certification as a part time NH Police
Officer. Think there's a lot of competition for these positions?

Hey, my neighbor is a school teacher. If he can get over his fear of
water, maybe we could get him to sign up (and turn the other way as
we ski under those bridges....:-)

Marine Patrol and Fish & Game are not one in the same. I recall being
told by a F&G officer not worry too much about not having a canoe with
electric registered since the remote section of river was unlikely to
    be patrolled by Marine Patrol.

I inquired into the Auxilary Marine Patrol last year and found out that they
basically provide courtesy boat inspections, attend hunting & fishing shows,
etc. They do NOT have any authority to stop potential violators or arrest
them! That's when I lost interest! Damn!

Interestingly enough, NH F&G wardens can also cite boaters for violating
the boating safety rules and regs. They have all the authority of the
Marine Patrol just as the Marine Patrol folks can arrest or cite anyone for
violating F&G laws. They're both considered "law enforcement" officials
and are empowered to enforce some of the other's laws.

Wonder where the line is drawn?

Joe
