Has anyone been to Lake Shasta in No. California? We're interested in dragging our boat there for a week of camping and skiing. We're not interested in a houseboat. Are there campgrounds all around the various arms of the lake or do you just pick a spot and camp? What are the air and water temperatures in July/August. The recent rains should insure that the lake will be full this summer. Thanks...Kevin

AHHHH yes Shasta, I have been to Shasta a few times and it is fantastic. There are plenty of campgrounds around the lake, some private some state ran. The best thing to do would be to call the Redding chamber of commerce or the Lake Shasta visitors info. They will send a list of the campgrounds along with the fees, what each contains and a lake map showing where each is located on the lake. The air temp in July/August wil be in the 90 to 100 degree range. As for the water temp I don't know but it will be plenty warm. P.S. the area code for the Redding/Shasta area is 916 Ron |
