| There was an article in the Boston Sunday Globe travel section about
renting a canal boat on either the Erie or Champlain Canal within the
last month or so. The drive along the canals is nice, you can stop at
the locks, many have picnic areas. Very relaxing.
Also, check a Library index of National Geographic, I believe there
have been articles in there, as well, over the years.
Sorry, no direct navigation experience on my part. Sounds like a fun
cruise.

Gaff,
Are you talking about the bardge canal that goes through my area
of NY? how far are they going to travel on the canal? I have never been
on the canal for any distance, everyone say's its a beautifull cruise
to take, I have seen some VERY large boats travelling the canal, 30'+
and they also have tour boats that travel the canal.

| Yup Lee, thats the one. They want to cruise from the Hudson River
all the way to Lake Ontario, but probably not all at once. The boat
really isn't big enough to spend more than a week on it, unless some
serious planning went into the trip (22 footer).
Wonder how the bass fishin is? :*)
Gone fishin
