1101.0. "shamrock info?" by SOLVIT::AMATO (Joe Amato) Mon Aug 16 1993 13:39

I've got a friend in Fla that's looking at a shamrock 26' with a single
engine diesel. Does anybody have any experience/information about the
boat, how it rides relative to GW's, Prolines etc?

They are {IMO} great boats. My Dad owns one and they are very well
made. Hand laid heavy glass , All stainless hardware very soild boat.
they only make inboard boats with a keel that gives them a good C.G.
and makes them handle very well. They are made in Cape Coral FL and my
father has taken a tour of the factory. Hope this helps.

    Very expensive, very well built.

Funny story - I had never heard of Shamrock until a couple years ago.
There was a Shamrock dealer near Bath, ME that put up a sign which from
a distance appeared to say "SALE - $15K". I remember approaching this
boat (maybe 20' or so) that I had never heard of and saying to myself
it must be a low-end Bayliner Trophy fishing boat competitor. And then
I saw that the sign really said "SALE - SAVE $15K". At this point I
assumed I was in "If you have to ask the price...." territory and drove
    away as fast as possible.

Since then I've seen them at shows and have confirmed that you can pay
$40K+ for a pretty small boat. The builder supposedly will make no
compromises for any cost - even the smallest Shamrocks have straight
    inboard FWC power.

    I'd love to have one.
1101.3Info on 1989 Shamrock InboardISLNDS::DOYLEMon May 09 1994 12:1311
I have been looking for a boat that I can use for fishing
Strippers/Blues with my three boys. I have come across a boat that is
going on auction and I was wondering if anyone had info on boat. The
boat is a 1989 Shamrock inboard with trailor. Does anyone have an idea
as to how this boat might fill my need and what would a reasonable
price be for this boat at auction.

         Appreciate any Help

In the past years i have spoken with 2 owners of Shamroch 33's.

Both were very satisfied.

I have boarded them in the show 33's that is, i was impressed with

their quality.

The boat you mention doesnt sound like a 33, ie trailer, but i would imagine

the same level of quality to be there.

I spoke with the owner of a 33 in narragansett bay, it had twin cummins

diesels, the beam was a bit narrow for a 33, but the owner stated it

was pretty quick, full out around 40 mph, cruise in the high 20's.

The boat I was talking about is a 20 ft. Sounds like these things are
niece boats but could run as high as $18k for used 89 ??
