I was reading the Boston Globe and they had a article about
recreational boaters and how uninformed(stupid) some of
them are. They printed a few anecdotes from various sources
that would be pretty comical if they wern't so dangerous.
The Coast Guard came upon a disabled boat of Essex Mass. at
sundown. They found the occupants had soaked some rags with
gas and were trying to light them with a spark from the
ignition wires on the engine to make a torch.
There must be lots of these that people have heard or have
first hand knowledge of.

Seen at public dock at East Boothbay, ME. A small open boat
arrives having navigated through the complexities and hazards of
the Maine coast with a *Road Map*.
(**For those dumb enough to try this, at least realize that roadmaps
usually show mean *high* water, to keep equally dumb people from taking
4WD vehicles into places they can't get out of at high water).
